In its work, the department positions itself around the idea that a way out of today's political, economic, cultural, social and ecological crises can only be found by learning. Today's dominant social developments cannot be overcome without increasing the individual capacity of social actors to act. Learning and educational processes play a decisive role in this development. The resulting learning requirements are perceived and analyzed both in formal contexts and in the diverse life-world opportunity structures (within informal learning processes in the most diverse social communities).
