The topic ‘Vienna’s colourful youth culture of the 1980s. Young people and their codes – from poppers, punks & co.’, as the documentary is fully titled, was examined in terms of the significance of youth cultures for identity development, their forms of expression, political orientations and gender relations. Alongside the academic analysis by Natalia Wächter, many former key figures from these youth cultures and other contemporary witnesses also had their say.
